Supporting Women's Mental Health
As women, we face unique challenges throughout our lives—challenges that often extend beyond the physical and touch our emotional and psychological wellbeing. From societal pressures to personal transitions such as pregnancy, birth, menopause, and everything in between, women’s mental health requires more than just recognition—it deserves active care and support.
“I am not broken, I am becoming.”
I am deeply passionate about supporting women through these transitions, understanding that each stage of life carries its own set of emotional, psychological, and social complexities. My approach focuses on empowering women to prioritise their mental health and wellbeing during times of change. Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perinatal depression, peri- or post-menopause, or the everyday challenges of being a woman, I offer the support, space, and tools to help you move forward with clarity, strength, and confidence.
Women’s health is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Every stage of life presents its own set of challenges, but these periods are also times of incredible growth, transformation, and strength. Whether you’re grappling with infertility, the isolation of postpartum depression, or the emotional shifts of menopause, women need to feel empowered and supported through these times—not overlooked or misunderstood.
I specialise in helping women through these transitions, with a particular focus on mental health challenges related to pregnancy, birth, perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, and peri- and post-menopause. These life phases can be overwhelming, and their psychological impacts are often under-recognised, leaving many women to navigate the journey alone. My role is to provide a space where you are heard, understood, and supported through this process.
My approach combines a deep understanding of trauma and life transitions with practical tools and therapeutic techniques to help you move through these phases with confidence. Together, we’ll unravel the complexities of your experiences, not just helping you cope but empowering you to thrive. The goal is not merely to survive, but to embrace your strengths, reclaim your voice, and rediscover your sense of self through each chapter of life.
Therapy for Women
Every stage of a woman’s life brings its own set of emotional and psychological hurdles. The pressures we face often feel contradictory—society demands we be everything at once, yet we are expected to be perfect, without ever fully acknowledging the toll this takes on our mental health. Women often face societal expectations that can feel contradictory and overwhelming. As a woman there can be a pervasive pressure to be everything—beautiful, smart, successful, nurturing—while simultaneously being told you're not enough. This constant balancing act can lead to feelings of inadequacy and burnout. Therapy provides a safe space to explore these feelings without judgment.
Pregnancy and Birth
Pregnancy and the birth process are often romanticised, but the reality can be overwhelming. From the physical changes to the emotional rollercoaster, many women feel unsupported or unheard during this period. Therapy can help you process these changes, manage anxieties, and prepare mentally for the transition to motherhood.
Postpartum
The period after childbirth can be incredibly challenging. From the fatigue and pressure of caring for a newborn to dealing with postpartum depression or anxiety, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. Therapy provides a safe space to express your feelings, seek guidance, and develop coping strategies during a time when you might feel isolated or exhausted.
Motherhood
Motherhood can be a source of immense love and fulfillment, but it also comes with its own set of emotional complexities. Many women feel the weight of the “perfect mother” stereotype, which can lead to guilt, anxiety, and stress. Therapy can help you navigate the challenges of motherhood, set healthy boundaries, and embrace your authentic self without the pressure to conform to unrealistic expectations.
Peri- and Post-Menopause
Menopause is a significant life transition, both physically and emotionally. The hormonal shifts can affect your mood, energy, and overall mental health. Whether you’re experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms or adjusting to life post-menopause, therapy can support you through these changes, helping you reclaim your sense of self, manage emotional shifts, and address any feelings of loss or confusion.
Life Transitions
As women, we often find ourselves in a constant state of change—whether it’s starting a new career, facing relationship shifts, or navigating the loss of a loved one. These transitions can trigger feelings of uncertainty, self-doubt, or anxiety. Therapy offers a space to reflect, gain clarity, and build resilience during times of change.
Trauma and Healing
Whether it's past birth trauma, unresolved grief, or the cumulative effect of life’s stresses, many women carry emotional scars that impact their mental health. Therapy helps you process these traumas, heal, and reclaim your emotional strength.
Finding Balance and Resilience
Therapy for women is about more than simply managing stress or coping with difficult emotions—it’s about finding balance and developing the tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. It’s about addressing the underlying pressures that can hold you back and building resilience so you can move through transitions with clarity and self-assurance.
I offer a supportive space where you can explore the complexities of your experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and move forward with greater emotional clarity and strength.
The changes women experience aren’t only physical—they affect the mind and spirit as well. It’s natural to feel lost, disconnected, or overwhelmed during times of change, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Together, we can explore these challenges, face them head-on, and build a path that feels meaningful and empowering.
