Create a life that feels good on the inside, not just one that looks good on the outside

In a world that can feel very messy and uncertain at times, its not surprising that we don’t always feel okay. Emotional and mental health maintenance are an essential part of thriving and not jut surviving the chaos! Whether is it everyday mental maintenance or tackling a distressing issue, finding the right help can be difficult.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and I help people who seem completely put together actually feel that way. Whatever end of the mental health spectrum you sit I offer insightful, nurturing, yet challenging therapy to meaningfully elevate you into a better space. I am passionate and dedicated to improving the mental health and emotional well being of the people that I work with. I offer psychological assessment and treatment for a wide range of emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties.  Wellness takes work!

SPEAKER

I enjoy getting people thinking about the ways they think. I give talks and lead discussions. When communities are engaged in prioritizing their emotional wellbeing, everything (and everyone) works better.

Specialist Areas

When it comes to therapy I have a grounded, creative and empathetic approach in working with clients towards self-awareness and real, lasting personal and interpersonal change. I have over 15 years of experience in supporting people who are experiencing a range of challenges including: anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, dealing with change, loss and work-related stress.

I have always been committed to and passionate about women's health and have a special interest in supporting the wellbeing of women. I specialise in supporting and empowering women around issues that uniquely affect women such as pregnancy, birth, perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, peri-menopause, menopause.

I work integratively and draw on different therapy techniques in my practice including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an effective approach for working with difficult memories and traumatic events.

It is literally impossible to be a woman...You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy. You have to have money, but you can’t ask for money because that’s crass. You have to be a boss, but you can’t be mean. You have to lead, but you can’t squash other people’s ideas. You’re supposed to love being a mother, but don’t talk about your kids all the damn time. You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It’s too hard! It’s too contradictory and nobody gives you a medal or says thank you! I’m just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us

PHILOSOPHY

I don’t believe in practicing from a distance and bring my real self into my work in an accessible and open way. I am wholeheartedly invested in the people I work with and believe therapy works best when it is a collaborative process. I strive to maintain the most engaging, effective and ethically sound practice possible. The heart of my philosophy is reflected in the ten principles of my practice below.
