Therapy for Children and Young People

As the mother to three young children I know all too well that family life whilst often joyful, can also be challenging. Many families experience periods in which problems arise, causing distress for all of those involved.  At times like these it can be helpful to reflect on the situation and explore different solutions to the problems in a supportive environment.

Children must be taught how to think, not what to think

I have many years of experience working with children and young people with a wide range of issues. Some of the more common issues I encounter in my clinic include:

  • Changes in family life/relationships

  • Issues with sleeping and eating

  • Toileting Issues

  • Seperation anxiety

  • Conduct problems e.g. tantrums

  • School refusal and bullying

  • Parenting advice and support

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • ADD & ADHD

My role is to support your child or young person while working with them on any issues that may be troubling them. I may suggest using a range of approaches depending on your child's needs. Sometimes, when issues are affecting the family unit, family therapy may be more helpful than individual therapy.
